The REOFFENDERS

Punk Rock: Classic and Modern

The REOFFENDERS are on an indefinite break. Never say never, but we currently have no plans to play. However, we had joy and we had fun... and we blogged about it. Enjoy reading and reliving some good times.

Cheers Taunton! Nice One :o))

Last night in The Westgate and they were singing and dancing along to the sound-check. Everything was lined up for a great night. And The Westgate delivered.

Lots of happy people singing along at the tops of their voices and lots of faces we've seen before. "Blimey" I said to Baby Belling, "I think we've actually now got a bit of a following in dear ol Taunton".

The highlight for me was Ruby Soho. We play that Rancid track cos, frankly, we love it and its a good tune, but we know not many people know it. Not so last night as a whole tableful of people sang and danced along giving a rapturous response at the end.

Thanks again to Carl and his team for another great welcome. We'll be back in 2008, so keep a check on our gig listings.

The next REOFFENDERS outing will be Friday night at The Abbotsway in Plymouth, so if you're in Plymouth, we'd love to see you there.

Punky hugs

Hoovie x

Mental Gig Last Night

Thanks to everyone who was at the Jolly Porter last night! What a great night!

We started the evening with Bully, Hoover and I being interviewed by Radio Devon about the band and punk in general. The interviewer also stayed and recorded half of the first set. It amused me that when he eventually left, he got halfway across the room before recognising "Sound of the Suburbs" and having to sing and dance just a little bit more before leaving. The place was packed with people singing all the words back at us, and was getting pretty hot and sweaty. Well done to the lady who knew all the words to Rancid.

Happy birthday to Gail, Chris and Gordon who were celebrating last night. Gail's brother Lance (as in boil) was celebrating rather a lot harder than everyone else and made a wonderful one man dance floor till we suspect he passed out at half time. Nevertheless, Gail was still up and dancing right till the end - nice one!

Lance and Kirsty went home at the interval, he didn't actually pass out but I think he was close to it!
We'd been to football earlier so it was a long day.
Anyway thanks guys for a brilliant night as always!

PS. Any chance of a gig up ECFC?

Photoshoot

I'm suffering a bit today... I had to be up at stupid o'clock to go out in the cold and get my pic taken for band photos. Anyone who knows me will tell you, I only like to see 7am when I'm going to bed after a good night out!

We had a few spots in mind in Exeter and got some goodies. We also worked out some things that would work better if we did it again... maybe we'll reshoot some? Dunno just yet.

Anyway, here's my faves out of the loads taken. Cheers to Marnie for taking pics and for getting up at stupid o'clock with us ;-)

We're Gonna Be on the Radio

We'd just returned from doing a photoshoot in Exeter this morning when I got a call from BBC Devon. It seems they're doing a programme about punk in Devon and they want to come and have a chat with us at our gig tonight, about the band and what punk means to us. Exciting stuff.

Oh the life of a rock star!

Tired After a Busy Weekend

The REOFFENDERS camp are recovering today after 3 consecutive gigs this weekend. Fun, but tiring stuff.

On Thursday, we were at the Longbrook in Exeter. It was a quieter night that we've been used to lately but they never fail to enjoy themselves there. It's a cracking night for live music there!

Friday took us to Chard and it was great to see Di and Dean there again... they've been to every gig that we've done up there, plus seeing our acoustic offshoot in Paignton a couple of years back. Real die hard fans! Cheers guys! It was a pretty young audience in there so we changed the setlist half way through to adjust accordingly and can you believe it? We forgot to do any Sex Pistols! Our punk credibility is dashed!

Last night we journeyed to Crediton and setup very quietly while everyone watched the rugby on the big screen. With a day of England football AND rugby, the town was quiet. Everyone had started drinking too early and were knackered but it was good to see a core that had come back for second helpings after seeing us there last time.
Oh and thanks to Paul the landlord for the Fursty Ferret! Yummy

Pondlife Gig on the Horizon

The Cornwall dates are popping into the diary for next year, with an exciting addition. We're playing the Acorn Theatre in Penzance with Pondlife! If you haven't seen them before.... you really need to.

Woooooooo! This is going to be massive (and probably get very messy afterwards). There'll be other bands too, details to be confirmed but get 29 March in your diary! It's gonna be a goody

The REOFFENDERS come home to Topsham

We just confirmed with Peter and Sharon at the Exeter Inn in Topsham that the REOFFENDERS wil be appearing on Sat 1st Dec.

'Tis most exciting to get to finally play in our home town and hopefully the punk fans and the downright curious will step through the portals of the Exeter Inn to see us play.

And there's good reason to. Not only us playing (and you know how good that is) but also a chance for non-regulars to see and taste what Pete and Sharon have done in the Exeter Inn. We should all celebrate their inclusion in the 2008 Good Beer Guide and raise a glass or three.

Entrance will be free to allcomers, but it aint a big venue, so get there early i'd say.

Hoover and out x
