The REOFFENDERS

Punk Rock: Classic and Modern

The REOFFENDERS are on an indefinite break. Never say never, but we currently have no plans to play. However, we had joy and we had fun... and we blogged about it. Enjoy reading and reliving some good times.

Not Bad for a Girl

I'm sure most of you remember Katie who used to drum with us? Well, she's been a bit busy lately - writing a punk song no less! Also while she's sat twiddling her thumbs with nothing to do, she writes an article for a website called "People's Republic of South Devon".

So have a read! I believe the song is called 'The REOFFENDERS'. Awwww, bless :-)

"Soundwaves Saturday" on Saturday 20th March 2010

Soundwaves

Through Bully, our old bassist, I've been involved with Soundwaves, which is an Exeter group dedicated to helping people with learning difficulties to come together and make music.

Obviously with any charity project one of the main demands on us is to help raise some cash to ensure the group can keep going. So we've joined up with Lemonrock to promote "Soundwaves Saturday".

Rather than have a specific "fundraising gig", bands and venues can sign up to support Soundwaves on the 20th March. Bands will be asked to agree to donate a small percentage of their fee to Soundwaves, the venue will be asked to match that donation, and the audience themselves can also take part in the giving too!

We hope that bands and venues will be supportive, as this small charity is specifically about helping people with learning difficulties gain confidence and real pleasure through music - something I think we all understand.

Soundwaves will be contacting all the bands/venues with gigs listed on Saturday 20th March to give them full details on how they can take part.

What can you do?

If you're in a band or know bands/venues, then help to spread the word and get them involved. All they need to do is get hold of me through The REOFFENDERS website/myspace/facebook/lemonrock or through Soundwaves' own myspace/lemonrock pages. We'll get straight back to them with full details about what they can do to help.

To find out more about Soundwaves, and maybe even get involved with their work, go to their Lemonrock or myspace pages. Soundwaves are always keen to hear from people with and without music skills who are keen to support the project.
