The REOFFENDERS

Punk Rock: Classic and Modern

The REOFFENDERS are on an indefinite break. Never say never, but we currently have no plans to play. However, we had joy and we had fun... and we blogged about it. Enjoy reading and reliving some good times.

Double Locks Virgins

The REOFFENDERS made their first visit to the Double Locks yesterday. The gig was originally planned to be inside but as the weather was so good, we played outside in the marquee. Which was cool because we had more space to move around and we didn't have to worry quite so much about the volume.

The problem that can happen with outdoor gigs is that people spread out more and can be further away from the band than normal. We could hear the cheering and clapping, but it was faint - I guess the wind wasn't blowing towards us.

However a stag party moved from the decking next to the river and plonked themselves right in front of us. No fear of hearing their reaction! They were enjoying the show, singing and dancing till we played Debaser and then the world exploded! It was an amazing reaction to a song which isn't normally that well known.

It was a great welcome to the Spring and more sunny evenings with outdoor music. Roll on August when we're back at the Locks.

What a Weekend!

We started out at the beer festival on Thursday night which is a good way to start your birthday but not necessarily a good idea before two consecutive gigs.

Smeg, Paul and Heather on vocalsSuffice to say, I felt sick all day Friday and drank coke all night. Hoover took great delight in dedicating Too Drunk to Fuck to Me. Nice! It was a bit quiet at Tiverton as they'd partied quite hard on the Easter weekend by all accounts, but those who were there got into the spirit.

We had our first full gig at the Royal Oak in Exminster on Saturday. We weren't sure how busy it would be because its a very big room where the band plays but it was very well supported. It was good to see some of SOB's following there too, vocal as ever

We had much more room than normal so had lots of space between the mics and the drums to jump about and generally be silly. We even had our own mini circles going back there!

Paul and Smeg get a little too personalAt the start of the encore, we were asked (in quite an original way) to play Teenage Kicks again. The requester then produced a tray of JD shots for each of the band... so how could we refuse?

As it was Paul and Smeg's joint birthday, there was much post gig silliness and dodgy photos which I obviously feel obliged to publish (tee hee). Paul downed 4 aftershocks in one glass just before we left which meant he fell into a coma as soon as he'd finished his pizza. Ahhhh, bless!

Top night! Roll on next Saturday!

Birthday Weekend of Gigs and Beer

The REOFFENDERS are celebrating double birthdays this weekend with Indesit's on Saturday and Smeg's on Monday. The celebrations commence this evening with a trip to the beer festival at Tuckers Maltings in Newton Abbot.

Then tomorrow we journey up to Tiverton to play at the Twyford (and yes Vicky, we will do Too Drunk to Fuck this time) and then making our debut at the Royal Oak in Exminster on Saturday.

It's gonna be good.... and it's gonna be silly.... and it's gonna get messy!
