The REOFFENDERS

Punk Rock: Classic and Modern

The REOFFENDERS are on an indefinite break. Never say never, but we currently have no plans to play. However, we had joy and we had fun... and we blogged about it. Enjoy reading and reliving some good times.

Great Night at the Strand

Swords of 1000... erm... lightsabersWe had a great gig last night at the Strand in Exmouth. The new managers only moved in 3 days ago so we were keen to prove our worth and although the pub was a bit quiet during the first set, we went down a storm in the second.

Radar did the sound for us and acted as roadie for John, feeding his mike lead out when he went on a wander, holding the stool when John decided to climb on the furniture - it was fun to see Radar keeping up with the chaos that is Mr Hoover.

Paul added more backing shouting to his repertoire which really beefed out the songs and Brucie put some lovely little fills in on the drums. Si looked very confident on bass. I particularly liked his running up and down the frets on "Should I stay or should I go".

Cheers to Connor and Sam for the warm welcome.

How can you be so harsh? Inflated toy? How can you say that? I'll admit that for easy transport my Fender Blowupcaster has an element of inflatability, but it's this revolutionary construction that gives it immense strength coupled with lightness of feel.

Guestbook is Back!

The guestbook is back although there is now a slight difference.

Any posts are moderated before they go live - much easier to delete annoying spammers that way. Sorry if any of you had your hearts set on a holiday in Vietnam, you'll have to look elsewhere for your hotel information.

Leeds Festival

Hoover and Morph went "oop narth" for the annual Leeds/Reading bash. Once Morph had finished her 4 hour "its not as good as Glastonbury" rant, we settled in to enjoy the bands.

Top of the pile for me (and somewhat surprisingly at that) was the Wedding Present. I've never seen them before and only have one CD from 1990. But every song was a winner. I look forward to seeing them play again in a proper venue.

Thumbs up also to:

Pixies
Foo Fighters
Juliette and the Licks
Mitch Benn
Echo and the Bunnymen
My Chemical Romance
Steve Gribbin

Thumbs down to:
Queens of the Stone Age
Kings of Leon
Dinosaur Jr
Razorlight
The Charlatans
and all the complete twats on the campsites...

We'd been to Leeds before so booked a Travelodge for Sunday night to avoid our tent getting burnt down and being forced to drive home to Devon with no sleep. Wise move i'd say...

Overall verdict:
Music great, Venue so-so, Camping totally shite.

Hoover x

You forgot about Mazza!!!

Marilyn Manson was great. My fourth time seeing him and he was truly brilliant, with a different outfit for every song (although I did think his long skirt and fitted jacked made him look like someone's Auntie).

Dave Grohl did a huge belch over the mike which would have made Mr Indesit proud!
