After weeks of intensive interrogation, we've finally extracted the truth about Dave's background.
Dirt Devil Dave got his nickname from his days working the bins in Rotherham and Mexborough in the early nineties. To supplement their meagre wages, the lads would suspend Dave upside down in the wheelie bins to enable him to drag out any items of value for "recycling". Accidentally shut in a commercial-sized bin for over three days, Dave was eventually rescued thanks to his rhythmic banging on the side with two discarded jars of Marmite. Spookily his drumming still sounds like that today.
