The REOFFENDERS

Punk Rock: Classic and Modern

The REOFFENDERS are on an indefinite break. Never say never, but we currently have no plans to play. However, we had joy and we had fun... and we blogged about it. Enjoy reading and reliving some good times.

John Peel Day

Yesterday was the first John Peel Day, set up by Radio 1 to celebrate the life of the late John Peel with around 500 gigs happening over the country.

We were playing at one of the Devon events at the Famous Old Barrel in Exmouth which featured: Dark Sovereign, Letter to Leaders, Animal Matter, our mates at S.O.B. and The REOFFENDERS.

Mr Hoover was actually outside the church at John Peel's funeral and made the night particularly Peely by putting printed quotes all over the pub such as "You know, if I made a record as good as that, I'd just sit at home all day hugging myself" and "and there I go talking over the end of the song, ruining it for those of you taping it at home".

It was a cracking night of great music with each band doing about half an hour. We finished with Teenage Kicks - twice! Well it was the big man's favourite song so what the hell! It was a great atmosphere with lots of people jumping about. I'd actually go as far as to say that we had a mosh pit... and we had our first stage diver (despite the stage only being about 3 inches high). Thankfully, his mates did catch him.

We're looking forward to going back there on Saturday night for a full set!
