The REOFFENDERS

Punk Rock: Classic and Modern

The REOFFENDERS are on an indefinite break. Never say never, but we currently have no plans to play. However, we had joy and we had fun... and we blogged about it. Enjoy reading and reliving some good times.

WattsFest 2005

Great bands, great company, great venue... and it didn't rain.

Top marks to the WattsFest team for this one. Especially Greg who did the sound all day, fuelled only by a four-pack of 2 litre bottles of coke (although Heather suspects he had a hidden cache of Haribos behind the mixer desk!

Another big cheer musst go to S.O.B. who played two storming gigs one after the other. Firstly they played an hour of fantastic rock and got everybody up and dancing and then, they kept it going for another hour to form "the best damn audience we've ever had". These guys had a mini mosh pit going for us down the front. Awesome! They threw a S.O.B. tshirt at me and I shall wear it proudly to their next gig.

Cheers to Dark Sovereign who opened the show and were lovely neighbours in the campsite. They've got a good deep rocky backline with great haunting female lyrics over the top. They're good already, and I know they will get better and better. There's an ep out soon i believe. We'll be checking that out.

We loved Zubini and Harry Munday too. Harry did a great one man set with just his guitar and Zubini rocked the house (field) right!

Then there was Nube, who seemed a little hesitant on the night and never looked too relaxed. They come all the way london too.

The Pleasure Seekers were a bit tuneful for me but there was true star quality right through. The last "tearjerker" tune specially had all the makings of a big hit. If these guys turn up at a festie near you, then lie back on the grass and let these melodies drift over you and you'll be impressed.

S.O.B. - frankly they're just a bunch of drunken no-hopers. I've no idea who let them play ;o)) They were truly magic. They seemed to play more of their original stuff than last time out at the 3FF and it all sounded great.

This was Bethy's last outing for us and I can only fall on my knees to praise everyone there who made it such a great last night for her. We ended with the crowd chanting "Bethy Bethy".. wot a finish!
